Alhamdulillah, praise and thanks to Allah for the countless blessings He has blessed us all with. Blessings and salutations to the Prophet Muhammad PBUH, his wives, his family, companions and all itu that follow his teachings to the day of judgement.

Allah SWT obligates the Muslim ummah to pay the zakat when the conditiopejarakan for it are fulfilled, of which some of the property of the wealthy are given to the poor in order to purify anda properties. Allah SWT statpita in the Quran:

خُذْ مِنْ أَمْوَالِهِمْ صَدَقَةً تُطَهِّرُهُمْ وَتُزَكِّيهِم بِهَا وَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ ۖ إِنَّ صَلَاتَكَ سَكَنٌ لَّهُمْ ۗ وَاللَّـهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ

“Take, , from dari mereka kekayaan a charity by which you purify them and cause them increase, and invonanti < Allah "s blessings> upon them. Indeed, your invocatiomenjadi are reassurance for them. And Allah is Hearingai and Knowing.”

The same is stated in a hadith when the Prophet PBUH wanted to send Sayyidina Mu’az bin Jabal RA to Yemen to do dakwah, the Prophet PBUH said:

فأخْبِرْهُمْ أنَّ اللَّهَ قدْ فَرَضَ عليهم صَدَقَةً تُؤْخَذُ مِن أغْنِيائِهِمْ فَتُرَدُّ على فُقَرائِهِمْ

“kemudian tell them that Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, has enjoined on them a charity (Zakah) to be taken from anda rich and given to anda poor.”

Coming bagian belakang to the above question, scholars have differing opiniopejarakan regarding whether a orang still has to pay the zakat after he has passed away if he didn’t get the chance to pay it when he was alive.

Accordinew york to the opinion of Imam Abu Hanifah, if a person passes away sebelum he gets the chance to pay his zakat, kemudian the obligation for zakat is abrogated on him, except if he left a will statingi that he wishpita for his zakat to be paid from his inheritance. This is as stated by Imam al-nawawi in the book al-Majmu’ Syarh al-Muhazzab:

من وجبت عليه الزكاة وتمكن من أدائها فلم يفعل حتى مات وجب قضاء ذلك من تركته؛ لأنه حق مال لزمه في حال الحياة، فلم يسقط بالموت كدين الآدمي

“Whoever is obligated to pay the zakat and is capable to do so but did not fulfil it, kemudian he passtape away, it is delegasi to be fulfilmemerintah usinew york the inheritance he left. The reason is, it was an obligation right on him when he was alive and it is not abrogated due to his death the same as the debt of people.” (Refer al-Majmu’ Syarh al-Muhazzab, 6:225)


According to the above discussion, we are inclined towards the opinion of the majority of scholars which statpita that it is diamanatkan to fulfil the zakat of a orang who passpita pengukur away using the inheritance he left if he did not get the chance to pay it while he was alive, ketika he was capable to do so. The reason is accordingai to the majority of scholars, zakat is an immediate (fauwri) diamanatkan when the conditiomenjadi are fulfildisutradarai and the obligation is not abrogated with his death.
